Often road users are only equipped with embedded sensors, which cannot predict upcoming road events due to obstruction or limitations in hardware. V2X technology enables the vehicle to be aware of what is happening 360 degrees around it even if there is no direct line of sight, extending visibility and enabling corrective action to be taken to ensure passenger or vehicle safety. Other messaging allows connected vehicles to send or receive alerts about dangerous driving behaviour, accidents, hazardous weather conditions or traffic congestions.
